Karen Myers, OTR/L, graduated from Colorado State University and has been practicing as an occupational therapist for over 24 years. She has been in private practice since 1994. Experience includes over 19,000 hours of direct occupational therapy treatment. She has worked in a variety of settings including community-based programs, hospitals, school systems, home health, early intervention programs, and private practice. Karen has served on committees, volunteered for various functions, has been a speaker at numerous seminars and made a guest appearance on a health television show to share her expertise on occupational therapy.

She has treatment experience in pediatric rehabilitation, pre- and post- Rhizotomy treatment, oncology, NICU, feeding, swallow studies, and GI clinic, mental health, hearing impaired programs, behavioral programs, and autism programs, including social development. Specializing in pediatrics and sensory integration, she has advanced training and extensive experience in evaluating and treating sensory processing disorders. She is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test. Karen is trained in vision therapy, SAMONAS sound therapy, and has advanced training in Therapeutic Listening. Additionally, she has special training in Greenspanís DIR /Floortime Model and Rhythmic Movement Training. She has attended numerous conferences/courses on Autism/Aspergerís Syndrome, twice-exceptional children, anxiety, fine motor/handwriting development, craniosacral therapy, executive functioning, and oral-motor development. However, over the years the children have been her best teachers. Karen has a passion for advocating and helping children and their families. Through her practice at Advanced Pediatric Therapy, she strives to reach each childís maximum potential and positive self-esteem using a play-oriented therapeutic treatment approach, along with family education.
